About

Elaine

Fitness, cycling, walking, the outdoors and healthy lifestyle has always been a part of my life and who I am. I have cycled many countries in Europe and my next adventure, along with my husband will be cycling the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland.

Yoga certification

My career has always been in education.
After gaining a degree in psychology and a Certificate in Education I taught in a 6th form collage for many years.

I have numerous counselling qualifications and have worked supporting those with a number of different addictions. After leaving my career in education in 2014 I had more time to dedicate to my yoga practice and study.

I attended an intensive yoga training course at the Himalayan Yoga Academy in Rishikesh, India. It was during this training that my passion to teach again was ignited, but this time to teach yoga. Following this I gained my yoga teacher training with Waking Minds Yoga and achieved my 200 hour yoga teaching certification which is Yoga Alliance accredited.

To continue to deepen my skills and knowledge of yoga I have also completed a 100 hour Mindfulness and Meditation training course with Waking Minds Yoga which enables me to deliver the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction  (MBSR) 8 week course.

A 40 hour Yin Yoga teacher training program with Breathing Space Yoga, Derby.

A 50 hour Restorative yoga teacher training program at The White Space Yoga Studio, Milton Keynes .

20 hour Yoga for All,  training (with Waking Minds Yoga) which is targeted at those with specific ailments including Parkinson's, COPD, anxiety, as well as many other issues.

Level 3 Autism awareness.

Quality of Life

Whenever I travel I make it a priority to experience many different forms of yoga with different teachers, such as, Aerial,  Kundalini, Stand up paddle board and Hot yoga among others. I have practised and studied yoga all around the world from Hartlepool to Australia and many places in between.

I have experienced first-hand and in others the benefits of yoga through family and friends and the profound positive effect practising yoga has had on their quality of life.

With my psychology, counselling and education background, I feel this is a natural progression bringing together all my skills and training and focusing my energy into something I love and truly believe in.

“My dream is to continue on my own path of yoga development whilst encouraging others, through workshops, classes and individual sessions to experience their own journey.”
